Two major methods exist for receiving Reiki treatment: hands-on therapy and distant treatments. The first method involves direct laying-on-of-hands to the head, chest, back, legs and feet. The second method for Reiki treatment is through distance healing. Using special symbols, Reiki Level II and Master Level practitioners theoretically can channel healing energy to an individual without touching them directly. This method is particularly helpful for those who are unable to travel to a clinic or setting to receive direct healing touch.
