Jeff Young
Jeff Young, Kinesiologist, CSCS, USAW-SPC, Fitness Program Co-ordinator at We Focus on Fitness at the Continuum Center for Health and Healing, is a rare, medically trained Kinesiologist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Jeff assisted in the creation and opening of We Focus on Fitness and served as Fitness Program Co-ordinator from 2006-2010 before moving to Los Angeles for one year. In Los Angeles Jeff worked as a Fitness Educator for UCLA Medical Center’s Gonda Diabetes Institute; Fitness Director at Westwood Physical Therapy; trained the Commissioner of Public Health for Los Angeles County as well as his son; and served as a Guest Lecturer for Sport and Rehabilitation students at two local colleges.
Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and over 15 years of experience to the Center for Health and Healing, having worked not only for Beth Israel (the Center for Health and Healing and Friedman Diabetes Institute) and UCLA Medical Centers, but Duke University Medical Center and the Center for Sports Medicine at Penn State University as well. His experience in medical fitness includes creating safe and successful programs for individuals with a wide variety of musculo-skeletal issues as well as individuals in various stages of disease. In addition Jeff has lectured and performed workshops in medical, collegiate, and corporate settings, and at over 15 health clubs in New York and Los Angeles.
Jeff takes a safe, progressive, evidence-based, comprehensive approach to fitness and has a proven record of success. The programs designed will not only reach and exceed client’s goals, but will simultaneously address muscle imbalances, posture and flexibility issues, and joint dysfunction to improve movement, function, and quality of life. Jeff also works directly with other healthcare providers in designing each client’s fitness program.
