Helen joined the Center for Health and Healing in 2005 after a 19 year career in traditional medical practice management. Specializing in program development, evaluation and re-design, she participated in the establishment of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the residency program at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn - Kings County Hospital Center and the residency program at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Helen is viewed as a specialist in program evaluation and has developed standards and operating systems in a variety of academic departments and multiple specialty practices. Most recently, at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, Helen was instrumental in the development of financial management systems to provide central oversight of the 13 division Department of Surgery and orchestrated the integration of three surgical divisions into one shared space as well as the relocation of the Division of General Surgery’s administrative and outpatient activities to a premier facility.

Helen attributes her success to a general philosophy of acting as a facilitator for physicians and staff with the mission of supporting both to function at their highest professional levels.
